GEG Holds “Responsible Gaming Awareness Week” for the 11th Consecutive Year

Over the years, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has been actively promoting responsible gaming to team members, echoing the Macau SAR Government’s promotional theme. This year is the 11th consecutive year that GEG has held the “GEG Responsible Gaming Awareness Week”, inviting the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao (“AJVM”) and Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office (“SKH”) to arrange roadshows and workshops under the theme of “Seeking Help for Winning the Future”. Nearly 1,700 team members have participated in the roadshows, games and workshop organised by AJVM and SKH, they have learnt the importance of responsible gaming and support channels, and will be able to offer support to others in the future.

GEG Invites Students from Kai Chi School to GEG Lusofonia Festival to Experience the Unique Portuguese Culture

The “2023 GEG Lusofonia Festival” was successfully held recently. Upholding the philosophy of “giving back to society”, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) invited students and family members of Kai Chi School to the event to experience the festivity and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural heritage of different Lusophone countries and regions. Accompanied by the GEG Volunteer Team, the participants enjoyed traditional Portuguese food and took part in various games, getting to know more about Macau's role as a platform for cultural exchange between Mainland China and Portuguese-speaking countries.

GEG Encourages Students to Learn Correct Money Management Concept via Games

Over the years, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has shown commitment to promoting responsible gaming by organising different promotional activities. Recently, GEG again supported the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao in organising a community education event called the "Parent-Child Financial Management Competition Day" at the Sa Lei Tau Fong Chong School. A total of 80 families were invited to join members of the GEG Volunteer Team for a series of relaxing competitions and games aimed at helping them develop a correct understanding of money management. In the future, GEG will continue to align our efforts with the government’s responsible gaming promotion work, deepen the public’s understanding of responsible gaming, and actively fulfill our corporate social responsibilities.

"KWIH and TWGHs Study Tour at Shanghai Jiao Tong University 2023" concluded successfully

K. Wah International ("KWIH") sponsored 50 students from secondary schools under the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals ("TWGHs") who have potential in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), to go to Shanghai for exchange activities in October, hoping to enable the younger generation to deepen their understanding of the motherland. In addition to understanding and connecting with each other, the tour inspires their enthusiasm for scientific exploration.

The students who participated in the tour visited several scientific research institutions, and the headquarters of international companies, such as the Shanghai K. Wah Centre and Tencent East China Headquarters. Moreover, the students were able to participate in the “Lui Che Woo Science Park” agreement signing ceremony and attend classes at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and “Lui Che Woo Science Park”.

Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Macao Science Center and GEG Co-organise "Youth Science and Technology Village" Programme to Cultivate Talent

The "Youth Science and Technology Village" programme, co-organised by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, Macao Science Center, and Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”), aims to cultivate talent in the field of science and technology. Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ao Ieong U and Vice Chairman of GEG Francis Lui witnessed the signing of an agreement for the program. The agreement was signed by Sio Hon Pan, Curator of Macao Science Center, and Philip Cheng, Director of GEG.

The programme will leverage GEG's extensive experience in integrated tourism management, advanced facilities and equipment, and financial resources to help cultivate outstanding local young science and technology talent. It aims to support the Macau SAR Government's "1+4" moderately diversified development strategies and create favourable conditions for young people to integrate into the overall development of the nation.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University “Lui Che Woo Science Park” naming and inauguration ceremony

Dr Lui Che-woo, Chairman of K. Wah Group and the founder of “LUI Che Woo Prize - Prize for World Civilisation”, has donated RMB250 million through the LUI Che Woo Prize to support the development of Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s science park, which has been named "Lui Che Woo Science Park".
