GEG Arranged Property Tours for Teachers and Students of Tertiary Education Institutions from Various Locations to Deepen Understanding of Large-Scale Integrated Resort Operations

Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) values youth academic exchange and continues to promote them through various initiatives. To introduce young people to the diversified development of Macau’s integrated resort industry, GEG arranges property visits and related exchange activities for university students and teachers from different higher education institutions, locations and majors.

Since the beginning of the year, GEG has welcomed more than 420 teachers and students from renowned universities and colleges such as Peking University, Jiangmen Wuyi University, University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, City University of Macau, Macao Institute for Tourism Studies, and Hong Kong Baptist University. Over 10 property visits had been organised for the academic community, each with tailored itineraries to meet the academic focus and learning needs of the students. These visits included a comprehensive overview of GEG’s various leisure, entertainment and new MICE facilities, as well as interactive sessions for students to engage in exchange with representatives from GEG’s various departments, thereby deepening students’ understanding of the management and operation of large-scale integrated resort and equipping them with the knowledge and skills of different professional domains.

GEG Responsible Gaming Community Promotion|Community Education Activity 2023

Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) is committed to promoting responsible gaming knowledge to the public. Recently, GEG took part in the “Avoid Gambling Addiction for Healthy Life” community education series organised by The Youth Volunteer Association of Macao. Guided by volunteers, participants joined various enriching activities at the games booths, workshops and parent-child sketch book experiences. Through these activities, participants learned about financial management, received souvenirs, and enjoyed a pleasant time with their families.

GEG and DSAL jointly launched the “Integrated Resort Youth Development Program” to cultivate local talents

The inauguration ceremony of “Integrated Resort Youth Development Program”, jointly launched by Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) and The Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macau Special Administrative Region (“DSAL”), was held at Galaxy Macau™. Officiating the ceremony were Wong Chi Hong, Director of DSAL; Lei Lai Keng, Head of Employment Department of DSAL; Cheung Wai, Head of Vocational Training Department of DSAL; Eileen Lui, Group Director of Human Resources and Administration of GEG; Kevin Kelley, Chief Operating Officer – Macau of GEG. They witnessed the personal and professional accomplishments of the participating elites.

The Program identified local residents interested in advancing their careers in food and beverage, housekeeping, and VIP hospitality through two job fairs and external promotional activities. The Program provides participants with 300 hours of professional training over a 12-month period, and a wide array of professional certification training opportunities, enabling them to strengthen their competitive advantage and enhance their vertical mobility.

GEG has been proactively supporting and promoting Macau’s talent cultivation, and held more than 30 diverse activities with DSAL to nurture Macau’s future talents this year. Moving forward, GEG will continue to support the Macau SAR Government’s policies on cultivating more local talents and elites in different fields, helping to move forward Macau’s development as a “World Center of Tourism and Leisure".

GEG Supports the Cultivation of Local MICE Talents Through Multi-Pronged Approaches to Drive Forward the “1+4” Adequate Diversification Development Strategy

Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has been fully supportive to the Macau SAR Government’s policy of “Building Macau through Talent Training” by making good use of its resources to nurture outstanding local talents. With its newly-developed exhibition and entertainment facilities, in addition to introducing and hosting different types of MICE events to Macau, GEG also proactively supports the cultivation of MICE talents and the holistic development of the MICE industry through multi-pronged approaches, in hopes of driving forward the “1+4” adequate diversification development strategy.

Marking its fourth consecutive year of supporting the Internship Career Experience Program organized by the Labor Affairs Bureau of the Macau SAR Government, this year GEG launches the U-LEAD Graduate Internship Program (“U-LEAD”) and incorporates new MICE opportunities on the original basis to provide a broader internship platform for local high potentials.

Meanwhile, GEG also arranged MICE facilities’ guided tours for nearly 50 lecturers and students of the “Vocational Training Program with Subsidy – 12th Edition of MICE Assistant Training Course that was jointly organized by DSAL and the School of Liberal Arts of Macau University of Science and Technology, thereby enriching participants’ MICE knowledge and contributing to the talent reserve of Macau’s MICE industry.

Visit to K. Wah International - Industry Benchmark Enterprise

The "Visit to K. Wah International - Industry Benchmark Enterprise" event aimed to promote the group's philosophy of "Impeccable Quality Superb Lifestyle," explore corporate management wisdom, and enhance the group's brand image. The event included visits to the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art in EDGE in Shanghai, and J Senses & H Senses at the Shanghai K. Wah Centre.

After the visit, Linda Huang, the General Manager of Human Resources and Administration for K. Wah International's Shanghai region, discussed the impact of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) on the future of human resources with HR professionals from various industries. She also shared KWIH's practices in corporate governance, creating a sustainable development environment, and fulfilling corporate social responsibilities.

LCWP x ICGS - The Magical Back-of-House Adventure

LUI Che Woo Prize—Prize for World Civilisation recently organised an event titled "The Magical Back-of-House Adventure'' in collaboration with Teach Unlimited Foundation and the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong (“ICGS”). In this event, students studying tourism and hotel management got a chance to see how the industry operates.

Students have experienced in the work of various departments, such as changing bed sheets in guest rooms and setting up banquet tables in the food and beverage department, to get a better understanding of the hotel's operation. As part of their tour, students also visited the hotel's famous bar, restaurants, pool, gym, and Club Lounge. In the last segment of the event, the Directors of F&B and Human Resources shared their career paths and job natures with the students.
