K. Wah title sponsors a writing contest

K. Wah Group became the title sponsor for the K. Wah Writing Contest organised by Wen Wei Po in celebration of its 65th anniversary, so as to provide a platform showcasing the talents of teenagers and writing lovers, and in turn enhancing language standard and exploring the fun of writing.

Dr Lui visits Fudan University to share insights on corporate succession and unveil a newly renovated historical building

On 25 September, Dr Lui Che-woo, Chairman of K. Wah Group and a Council Member of Fudan University, paid a visit to the University, together with some 40 senior management members of the Group to attend the unveiling ceremony of a newly renovated historical building complex, renamed Lui Che Woo Building. Dr Lui, Paddy Lui, Executive Director of KWIH and GEG and Joseph Chee, Executive Director of GEG and Managing Director of KWCM shared their views with more than 400 faculty members, students and guests and staff in a forum on corporate succession.

GEG Youth Achievement Program guides personal development

Co-organised by GEG and Macau Management Association, the closing ceremony of GEG Youth Achievement Program was held at StarWorld Hotel on 10 July. Certificates were presented to participants who had completed the program successfully, and those with outstanding performance were given a chance to join a study tour to Cambodia. Targeting local young people between 18 and 25, the program aims to help the participants discover personal strengths through a range of team building activities and practical trainings such as community and volunteer work.

GEG nurtures talents with internship programme

GEG has been organising biannual internship programme for undergraduates to put their skills and knowledge into practice since 2008. In the first half of 2013, 24 departments provided positions for 41 students from University of Macau, Institute for Tourism Studies Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, Swiss Hotel Management School and Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. GEG hosted an appreciation ceremony at StarWorld Hotel on 26 June to acknowledge students’ hard work and contribution.

Dr. Lui makes donation to CUHK to establish Lui Che Woo Clinical Sciences Building

K. Wah Group has donated HK$100 million to the Chinese University of Hong Kong for the establishment of the Lui Che Woo Institute of Innovative Medicine which focuses on advancing brain research and innovative neuroscience, sports medicine, regenerative technology and cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment. The ultimate goal of the endowment is to encourage branching out into new medical fields.
