GEG continues to empower Macau young talents

Since 2011, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has been collaborating with Macau Management Association to cultivate nearly 3,000 talented young people with its GEG Youth Achievement Programme. Stepping into the ninth year, GEG will keep on nurturing youngsters in three main areas, namely self-awareness, community care and career development. Diversified trainings and activities like workshops, seminars, experiential learning and Greater Bay Area exchange tours will be arranged to help youth realise their talents and stay competitive.

GEG grooms young talents for Macau MICE industry

To support the Macau SAR Government in cultivating young talents for the Meeting, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (“MICE”) industry, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) hosted the “Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macau SAR - President of IPIM Dialogue with GEG YAP” for young rising stars to gain deeper industry knowledge.

Irene Lau, President of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (“IPIM”) was invited to share her insights on the advantages and opportunities of Macau’s MICE industry, followed by a dialogue with four programme participants on the future development of the industry.

GEG offers invaluable opportunities for future Japanese hospitality professionals

The second Galaxy Entertainment Group Japan-Macau Integrated Resort Management Mentorship Scheme commenced on 26th Aug. Operating in conjunction with Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation, the three-week scheme aims to develop operational skills and industry knowledge for potential Japanese leaders in the integrated resort and hospitality industry. Participants have the chance to learn integrated resort operations at our flagship Galaxy Macau™, and attend lectures covering various industry-related topics.

GEG nurtures home-grown talents in tourism and hospitality industry

Under Galaxy Entertainment Group ("GEG") Integrated Resort Internship Programme 2019, close to 80 students received training in various aspects of integrated resort operations through job rotations. The Group also ran a tailored programme for students with special needs to broaden their experience. Congratulations to the Class of 2019!

GEG’s graduate training programme in mechanical engineering has demonstrated its effectiveness

GEG was the first gaming operator accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (“HKIE”) in 2015 to offer the scheme “A” graduate training programme in mechanical engineering for graduates of the University of Macau. Two engineers from Galaxy MacauTM's Engineering Department recently become the first locally-trained engineers to complete the training and receive certifications issued by HKIE. During the two-year programme, trainees undergo job rotation with all-rounded exposure to various job assignments in the Engineering Department.

The “KWCM Zhaotong City Daguan County Education Assistance Foundation”

Established in December 2018 by KWCM, the “KWCM Zhaotong City Daguan County Education Assistance Foundation” will make a RMB200,000 donation each year to the Daguan County Committee of the Communist Party of China Youth League for five consecutive years from 2019 to 2023 to provide education assistance to underprivileged secondary school and university students in Daguan County, Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province. Joseph Chee, Managing Director of KWCM, paid a visit to Daguan County on 29 March to meet with local teachers and students and learn about the progress of students receiving the assistance. In addition, KWCM also launched a charitable donation initiative on that day by sending 2,100 packs of bedding sets and toiletries to the boarding students of seven primary schools and one secondary school in Shoushan County.
