KWIH donates HK$1 million to TWGHs supporting Vaccination Subsidy Campaign
To encourage vaccination among Hong Kong citizens, K. Wah International (“KWIH”) made a donation of HK$1 million to Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”) for the launch of “K. Wah Cares” Vaccination Subsidy Programme. The scheme has concluded successfully, providing eligible families in need with subsidies to cover pre-vaccination medical check-up fees and other related expenses when they have to take leave from work for vaccination. Looking ahead, the Group will continue to work hand in hand with the public in fighting the virus.
GEG supports Tung Sin Tong fundraising campaign for the 18th consecutive year
18 years in a row! Committed to contributing to the local community, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) has been actively supporting various charities and social services organizations in Macau. This year, GEG continues to donate MOP600,000 to support Tung Sin Tong’s annual fundraising campaign, aiming at spreading mutual care and support in the community. In addition, GEG has partnered with Tung Sin Tong previously in organising different community activities for its service users.
Recently, colleagues from K. Wah Construction Materials have participated in a meaningful journey! Joining hands with families and friends, they took part in the “Sowers Challenging Virtual Run”, and covered a total distance of over 100 km within four hours in Shing Mun Reservoir. All their efforts and sweats contributed to fund-raising for Sowers Action’s projects, that aims at improving education and welfare for orphans and underprivileged children.
GEG co-launches “Run with a Partner” with MSO to promote social inclusion
Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”) co-launched a marathon training programme “Run with a Partner” with the Macau Special Olympics (“MSO”). During the eight-month programme, members from the GEG Runner’s Club are arranged to train with MSO members on a regular basis, and help MSO members get prepared for the annual “Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon”. It is hoped that these weekly trainings could successfully bring both parties together and create lasting friendship.
At K. Wah Construction Materials (“KWCM”), a spirit to serve is part of our DNA. Despite the summer heat, KWCM volunteering team has again participated in the “Construction Industry Lo Pan Rice Campaign” organised by the Construction Industry Council. The team packed and delivered meal boxes to the community centre of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong, and then distributed them to the needy every Friday since July. A total of 1,500 meal boxes have been donated to extend community support as much as we can.
K. Wah Group donates nearly HK$15 million to support flood relief efforts in Henan
K. Wah International(“KWIH”) announced a donation of HK$5 million to Henan Province, which was made under the coordination of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR. The donation will be used to support the emergency response and relief efforts in Henan Province, thus enable compatriots who have been affected to resume their normal lives soon. Following a recent donation of MOP10 million by Galaxy Entertainment Group Foundation under Galaxy Entertainment Group, K. Wah Group has donated close to HK$15 million in total to support Henan's rescue efforts.
