The Medical Mask Production Cleanroom of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”), built with funding contributed by K. Wah International Holdings (“KWIH”), went into production in July 2020 to supply medical masks to the Hong Kong social welfare sector. Masks were provided to services run by TWGHs such as hospitals, elderly homes, and rehabilitation centres and schools. Subscription services were also provided for nonprofit organisations, helping protect vulnerable groups from the pandemic. The workshop also provided vocational training places for people with disabilities to facilitate them for open employment in the labour market and integration into society.
Furthermore, TWGHs held a plaque unveiling ceremony to thank KWIH for their funding, attended by Alexander Lui, Executive Director and Oliver Lam, Chief Financial Officer of KWIH. They visited the production lines to learn about the manufacturing process.
