Dr Lui Che-woo, Chairman of K. Wah Group, said in his speech, “2011 has been a fruitful year for the Group as we have witnessed the launch of many landmark projects during the year. We would not have achieved such brilliant results in our entertainment and leisure, properties, construction materials and hospitality businesses without the strong support and contribution of our friends present today as well as the efforts of our dedicated staff. I would like to extend my most sincere thanks to each and every one of you.”

Capitalizing on continuous innovation and unity at all levels, 2011 has been a harvesting year for the Group. Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited (“GEG”), a subsidiary of the Group, invested HK$15.5 billion in Galaxy MacauTM, which was opened during May 2011. By adhering to its “World Class, Asian Heart” development principle, Galaxy MacauTM has turned into a brilliant brand under GEG with its years of experience and competitive strength in Macau. Another exciting development is the launch of several premium property projects in Hong Kong and Mainland China including Marinella, Chantilly, Providence Bay, The Palace and The Legend by K. Wah International Holdings Limited (“KWIH”), another subsidiary of the Group. These high quality residential complexes have been well received and recorded splendid sales in the market.

In addition, K. Wah Construction Materials Limited ("KWCM") has continued to develop environmentally-friendly construction materials. This year, two new production lines commenced operation in Hebei and Sanhe while strategic partnership with Kunming Iron & Steel and Echeng Iron & Steel was established respectively. With an annual output of slag exceeding 10 million tonnes, KWCM has taken a further step in its green construction material business. The Group’s first world-class flagship hotel, InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong, has been providing extraordinary hearty service to its guests. As it entered the 30thanniversary, it remains as “a truly great hotel that is most preferred by guests.” As the first flagship project under GEG, StarWorld Hotel and Casino garnered five awards including the World Hotel’s Continental Diamond Award - Top Ten Charming Hotel this year as it celebrated its 5th anniversary. The awards are glittering testimony of the outstanding performance of GEG in Macau.

To acknowledge all business divisons for their dedicated efforts and contributions, which have been honoured with numerous international accolades and prestigious awards in both Hong Kong and Mainland China during 2011, the Group presented certificate of merits to representatives of all business departments to encourage its staff to strive for further advancement through teamwork in the coming years.

Staff performance was another highlight of the annual party. With concerted effort, staff from all four core businesses underwent a series of practices before tonight’s party so as to give their best on stage. Their enthusiastic performance at the dinner was the result of numerous rehearsals, exemplifying their strong team spirit. Another surprise came from Ms Paddy Lui, Executive Director of KWIH and GEG, who sang the "Panis Angelicus" in Latin and "The Moon Represents My Heart" in Mandarin, as a token of appreciation for the continuous support from staff members and the guests present through the years. The performances fully demonstrated the strong spirit throughout K. Wah Group, and their commitment to strive for excellence with continuous innovation for better advancement in future.
