KWIH is committed to nurturing young talents through the “Summer Internship Programme” and “Management Trainee Programme”

23 Sep 2019

Five university students participated in the Summer Internship Programme at the headquarters in Hong Kong this year.

In tandem with the philanthropic spirit of “giving back to the society”, KWIH has always charged itself with the mission of nurturing future leaders. In addition to the annual “Summer Internship Programme” conducted at the headquarters in Hong Kong, KWIH has also endorsed the “Shanghai-Hong Kong Future Leaders Internship Programme” hosted by the Hong Kong-Shanghai Youth Association for three consecutive years and participated for the first time in the “2019 Summer Internship Tour” hosted by the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China, aiming to identify potential university students and better prepare them with knowledge in the property industry in Hong Kong and Mainland China.

Seven university students from Hong Kong and Shanghai participated in a six-week internship at Shanghai office and had the chance to meet Eugene Tang, General Manager – Development and Operations of K. Wah (China)Investment Company Limited (centre).

This summer, the Group recruited 12 university students from Hong Kong and Mainland China to work at its Hong Kong and Shanghai offices. The interns were allocated to different departments to gain hands-on working experiences, while they also visited the Group’s residential, commercial and serviced apartment projects to gain insight into the current real estate market. Dr Lui Che-woo, Chairman of K. Wah Group shared the importance of impeccable quality with the interns in Shanghai.

Meanwhile, the headquarters in Hong Kong launched its first “Management Trainee Programme”. The two-year programme aims to attract high-calibre talents and equip them as future business leaders. A similar programme was also organised by the Shanghai office in support of the Group’s business expansion in Mainland China.

Four Management Trainees, who were recruited by the headquarters in Hong Kong, have started to gain hands-on experience at different departments since September this year.

The seven colleagues who were originally recruited through Management Trainee Programme at the Shanghai office now serve as the core team in middle to senior positions. They benefited immensely from discussions with Group Chairman, Dr Lui Che-woo.
