At the honouring ceremony, Francis Lui was decorated with the insignia from Alexandre Giorgini, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Macau. Mr Giorgini thanked Mr Lui, who is an ambassador of the Paris Opera, for his contribution in attracting people’s attention to the arts and culture of France, and promoting cultural relations between France, Hong Kong, and Macau.
The Order of Arts and Letters (“Ordre des Arts et des Lettres”) was established in 1957 by the Minister of Culture of France, which is recognised as France’s highest cultural honour. The Order recognises eminent artists and writers, as well as people who have contributed significantly to furthering arts in France and throughout the world.
