K. Wah Group Holds the First-ever “K. Wah Master Chef 2016” Contest Engaging Staff to Compete with Culinary Skills for the Title Honour of “K. Wah Master Chef”
(Hong Kong, 10 April 2016) – K. Wah Group (the “Group”) has been upholding its commitment towards “Building the Future with Passion” for more than six decades in Hong Kong. In order to strengthen the sense of belonging among its staff and enhance positive energy in the community, the Group invited staff from its four core businesses to participate in the first-ever "K. Wah Master Chef 2016" Contest held yesterday. The fun-filled activity aimed not only to inspire staff to take advantage of their skillset and originality to prepare special culinary delights, but also to bring them together to exchange cooking ideas and forge friendships, thereby developing their unique talents beyond work.
The Group’s four core businesses participating in the Contest included K. Wah International Holdings Limited ("KWIH", HKEx: 0173), Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited ("GEG", HKEx: 0027), Stanford Hotels International Holdings Limited and K. Wah Construction Materials (Hong Kong) Limited ("KWCM"), each of which delegated three cooking teams totalling twelve teams to showcase their cooking hands. The contestant teams spared no efforts to demonstrate their superior creativity and unrivalled team spirits to create wonderfully unique dishes. The five shortlisted best teams then competed in the finals and ultimately the team "Michelin Number One" from KWCM won the prestigious honour of the inaugural "K. Wah Master Chef".
The “K. Wah Master Chef 2016” Contest invited a heavyweight panel of judges, including Mrs Bettina Lui, spouse of Mr Alexander Lui, Executive Director of KWIH; Mr Alan Tso, Chief Financial Officer of KWCM; Chef Leung Fai Hung, Executive Chinese Chef of InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong; and Chef Chan Chek Keong, Executive Chinese Chef of StarWorld Macau.
