K. Wah Group Dragon Boat Mixed Team Creates its Best Record at “Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships 2019”

07 Jun 2019

(Hong Kong, 7 June 2019) – K. Wah Group (the “Group”) took part in the “Stanley International Dragon Boat Championships 2019” held at Stanley Main Beach. This is the fifth year in a row the Group joined this annual event to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival together with its staff and their families and friends.

This year, K. Wah Group sent the strongest team, making up of 23 male and female athletes from K. Wah International Holdings Limited (“KWIH”, HKEx: 00173), Stanford Hotels International and LUI Che Woo Prize Limited. Same as past years, the athletes took part in the “Mixed Team” races competing against other local and overseas teams. There to cheer the teams on were Paddy Lui, Executive Director of KWIH and Galaxy Entertainment Group, Quinly Wan, Director of Development & Leasing of KWIH, Christopher King, Director of Projects of KWIH, Alexander O. Wassermann, General Manager of InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong, colleagues from different departments and families and friends of staff members. At the best of their effort and team spirit, K. Wah athletes, as anticipated, got into the “Mixed Silver Plate” final, which creates the best record of the team over the years. The team also competed this year for “The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors 35th Anniversary Dragonboat Cup” and completed the race with a good performance.

After the event, Paddy Lui said, “Our team had put in months of practice and it paid off, with such exceptional performances, speaking volumes to the team spirit shared by all in the Group. We care about the physical and mental well-being of our staff, hence are dedicated to creating for them a happy workplace. With this in mind, we will continue to host various healthy activities that can strengthen ties among colleagues from different departments and enhance their sense of belonging to the Company.”

To promote a healthy lifestyle among staff, K. Wah regularly holds leisure activities, such as Wing Chun martial arts classes, festival parties, handicraft workshops, and many others, to foster solidarity among colleagues and build a more united and efficient team.
