KWIH Appoints Professor Poon Chung Kwong and
Dr Moses Cheng Mo Chi as Directors |

(Hong Kong, 4 August 2009) – K. Wah International Holdings Limited ("KWIH" or "the Group") (stock code: 173) proudly announced the appointment of Professor Poon Chung Kwong, GBS, PhD, DSc, JP, the President Emeritus of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, as an Independent Non-executive Director, and Dr Moses Cheng Mo Chi, GBS, OBE, JP, as a Non-executive Director of the Group on 1 August 2009.

Professor Poon has been contributing to the advancement of tertiary education in Hong Kong for 40 years. He had chaired and sat on different government, business and industrial and education committees. He was a member of the Preparatory Committee for the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (1995 – 1997) and member of the Selection Committee for the First, Second and Third Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Since 1998, he has been a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
Professor Poon received the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) in 2002. Dr Cheng is a senior partner of the solicitor firm P.C. Woo & Co, and the founding chairman of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors. Dr Cheng was a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for many terms and chairman of the Main Board Listing Committee and Growth Enterprise Market Listing Committee of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. Dr Cheng received the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) in 1999.
As of 1 August 2009, the Executive Directors of the Company are Dr Che-woo Lui (Chairman & Managing Director), Mr Francis Lui Yiu Tung, and Ms Paddy Tang Lui Wai Yu; the Non-executive Directors are Mr Michael Leung Man Kin and Dr Moses Cheng Mo Chi; and the Independent Non-executive Directors are Sir David Akers-Jones, Dr The Hon Leo Lee Tung Hai, Dr Robin Chan Yau Hing, Mr Robert George Nield, Dr William Yip Shue Lam and Professor Poon Chung Kwong. |
