Exercising its integrated strengths while developing in line with national policies and market needs, K. Wah Group continues to thrive in 2010s.

In line with Macau’s positioning as a “Global Centre of Tourism and Recreation”, Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”; stock code: 00027) launched its mega integrated resort, Galaxy Macau™ Phase 1, in May 2011. An investment of HK$16.5 billion, the mega resort measuring a gross floor area of 550,000 square metres operates with “World Class, Asian Heart” philosophy to offer world-class entertainment, leisure, convention and exhibition, shopping and dining facilities. In addition to Galaxy Hotel™, Galaxy Macau brings in award-winning premier hotel brands Banyan Tree Macau and Hotel Okura Macau, attracting visitors from all over the world. Since its opening, this “New Palace of Asia” has won a host of accolades as one of the world’s best resorts. In 2013, GEG’s inclusion as a constituent of the blue-chip Hang Seng Index marked a historic milestone for the Group.

With the expansion of Galaxy Macau Phase 2 doubling the size of the mega integrated resort to 1 million square metres in 2015, GEG unveiled a new chapter and delivers a set of more diverse experiences, including the world’s longest skytop aquatic adventure river ride at 575 metres. The introduction of world-class hotels The Ritz-Carlton, Macau, JW Marriott Hotel Macau and Broadway Hotel increases the total number of rooms, suites and villas in the resort to around 4,000, pampering visitors with luxurious accommodation. Meanwhile, Broadway Macau™, renovated from Grand Waldo Complex, offers guests a unique up-close-and-personal entertainment experience featuring the best of authentic Macau and Asian culture as well as international shows and performances at its 2,500-seat Broadway Theatre.

GEG has the largest undeveloped landbank of any concessionaire in Macau. When the next chapter of its Cotai development are completed, GEG’s resort footprint on Cotai will double to more than 2 million square metres. Meanwhile, GEG is planning to develop a world-class leisure and recreation destination resort on a 2.7 square kilometre land parcel on Hengqin adjacent to Macau. This resort will complement GEG’s offer in Macau, differentiate it from its peers and support Macau in its vision to become a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure. In terms of international opportunities, to further support GEG’s international expansion ambitions in Asia including Japan, GEG has announced the strategic partnership with Monte-Carlo SBM, which includes a mutual commitment to enhance the respective businesses and brands of each company and to work together on the development and operation of entertainment businesses including Integrated Resort (“IR”) projects in the Asia-Pacific region, including opportunities in Japan.

2015 is also a special year marking the diamond jubilee of K. Wah Group. Chairman and Founder Dr Lui Che-woo announced the establishment of LUI Che Woo Prize – Prize for World Civilisation to honour and recognise individuals or organisations who have unselfishly promoted global civilisation through sustainable development, contributions to the welfare of mankind, the promotion of positive attitudes in life and the enhancement of positive energy. The first LUI Che Woo Prize – Prize for World Civilisation Inaugural Prize Presentation Ceremony was held on 3 October 2016, recognising the significant contributions to world civilisation by the three inaugural laureates. Meanwhile, the Group’s four pillar businesses will continue to progress and spare no effort in advancing social development, building a harmonious society and nurturing future pillars for the country in the spirit and vision of “Building the Future with Passion”.

Despite challenges arising from prevailing tightening measures in Hong Kong and Mainland China property markets, K. Wah International Holdings reaffirms its premier brand positioning as a developer of exquisite and niche projects pioneering sophisticated lifestyle and creating added value. Over the years, its developments in both Hong Kong and Mainland China have earned numerous international accolades in architecture and design. Marinella, one of the Group’s signature luxury residential projects, was awarded the Platinum Rating of Final Assessment under the BEAM Plus NB V1.1 of the Hong Kong Green Building Council in recognition of its unique lifestyle and eco-friendly architecture. The Group also launched a range of quality projects in Hong Kong and Mainland China, including Chantilly, K.CITY, K.SUMMIT, Marinella, SOLARIA, The Spectra, Twin Peaks, Corinthia by the Sea, Mayfair by the Sea I, Providence Bay, Providence Peak, The Coronation, The Octagon, Vertical Sq, Stanford Residences Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong; Azure, Grand Summit, The Palace, Upstream Park, Windermere, EDGE, Palace Lane, Shanghai K. Wah Centre, Stanford Residences Jin Qiao, Stanford Residences Jing An, Stanford Residences Xu Hui in Shanghai; Royal Creek and The Peak in Nanjing; Royal Mansion in Suzhou; Wisdom Mansion in Kunshan; Jinmao Palace in Jiaxing; J Metropolis, J Wings, Le Palais and Crowne Plaza Guangzhou Huadu and K. Wah Plaza in Guangzhou and Bayview and Silver Cove in Dongguan. Meanwhile, the Group continues to acquire quality land parcels including Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and Jiangmen to capitalize on future development opportunities in the regions. In 2018, Cresleigh Property, the property management arm of the Group, was set up to deliver exceptional hotel serviced property management services guided by advanced and international standards in general to premium residential buildings, commercial facilities, office towers and real estate complexes.

Stanford Residences Victoria Harbour, the Group’s first serviced apartment in Hong Kong was opened in 2017. It is located in the heart of Hong Kong Island, overlooking breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour.

With its collaboration with leading iron and steel enterprises strengthened and an annual production capacity exceeding 14 million tonnes, K. Wah Construction Materials has developed into one of the largest Ground Granulated Blastfurnance Slag ("GGBS") manufacturers in Mainland China with a sales network covering a dozen cities. In line with the national policy of eco-friendliness, K. Wah’s cement production lines in the Mainland China are equipped with advanced waste-recovery systems to achieve energy saving and emission reduction, with an annual production capacity exceeding 12 million tonnes. KWCM established a green mega quarry in Huidong, Guangdong Province with annual production capacity of 4.3 million tonnes, supplying quality aggregates to Hong Kong. The advanced management, technology and successful experiences of the Anderson Road Quarry are also applied in Huidong to achieve environmental quarrying. In 2017, the rehabilitation of Anderson Road Quarry finally came to an end and was returned to the HKSAR Government in July. Apart from restoring the natural habitat of the quarry, the project created a site of about 40 hectares for urban development, laying the foundation for the future development of the new community in East Kowloon. In 2018 and 2019, K. Wah acquired the South Runway resurfacing project of Hong Kong International Airport and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, providing over 400,000 tonnes asphalt. The Group also provided quality concrete to three-runway project.
